This was the final project for the graduate-level course, Design for Manufacturability. The goal was to create a fictitious product by combining two existing items and perform many aspects of product development for it. We combined a suitcase and a scooter to create the ScootCase. The development of the ScootCase included: 

  • VOC Worksheets and Interpreted Customer Needs

  • Product Specification

  • BOM with Preliminary Cost Estimate

  • Detailed Cost Estimate

  • Target Costing Analysis

  • CAD (Design for Assembly)

  • Fishbone Assembly Diagram

  • Product Development Timeline

  • Cost-Worth Analysis

  • Boothroyd-Dewhurst Assembly Analysis
